GRIEF ENCOUNTER 2016
A SPECIAL DAY FOR GRIEF ENCOUNTER ADULTS AND CHILDREN
Grief Encounter helps bereaved children deal with the loss of either a parent or a sibling.
A fabulous day was had by all when Grief Encounter spent the day near Marlow at our riverside property. Both the children and their parents spent their day making the most of all the facilities on offer. On arrival, everyone sat down for drinks and biscuits to kickstart them for their days activities.
Some went straight for the heated swimming pool and others went off to bottle feed the baby lambs that were just a week old. As we had arranged for a petting zoo to entertain the children, Max the shetland pony took some of the children around the grounds. They could also feed the goats and hold the guinea pigs and baby tortoise. The children also loved the baby chicks which were only a couple of weeks old. After lunch, the boat trips started whilst some of the parents and children enjoyed playing a tennis match.
Ice creams came out in the afternoon which definitely went down well as it was a lovely warm day. When the day sadly came to an end, all the children chose toys from an array of gifts very kindly donated by Grant and Bowman Ltd.
Everyone involved in this very special day could feel how much enjoyment both the members and staff from Grief Encounter had and we look forward to hopefully welcoming them back to Milly next year.
