STOLL VETERANS MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR DAY

STOLL is a charity providing housing and enabling services to disabled and homeless ex- Service personnel and other people with disabilities, in London.

On a rather cold day at the end of May, a group of 50 Veterans from STOLL came down for a Milly Day. The majority of the veterans were from the Navy so boat trips on Milly Belle with Captain John proved very popular.

Despite the wind and the rain in the morning, everyone relaxed and chatted over cups of tea and biscuits unless they were brave and took a boat trip, under cover with big blankets!

When the sun did finally come out, there were croquet competitions and endless boat trips otherwise people chose to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful grounds and watch the boats go by on the Thames.

After a lovely lunch in the marquee, all the activities continued during the afternoon until tea with strawberries and cream was served. All the Veterans had a really great day and were very sad when it was time to get back on the coach and head back to London.

We are looking forward to welcoming STOLL back to Milly again next year.
